location, scouting process, and decisions

    Me and my group's location for our film is going to be at a local park, but the thought we have for our set and location is a news station. But unfortunately we can't make that complete come alive and possible... But we are going to try to make it as alive as we want so it will fit our visions for our film.


   Our scouting process was very simple but at the same time had a little obstacles but most of it was just natural. We all knew each other a little already because we had other class periods together throughout this year. We all decided we wanted to do a group project due to the fact we all work better in groups and because four brains put together is always better than one. Because we knew each from previous periods from this year and since we've worked on group projects together before it was quite natural for us to work together on our film project. And we also have fun while getting our work done because we don't want it to be boring while we do our work so we crack little jokes here and there while working on our film. 


    Our decision process is quite easy as well because we mainly agree on everything when it comes to the project but sometimes one person has an idea then someone else has a different idea and usually they both are extremely good and will help us with our project... So when working on the project we try our best to include both ideas. We have decided on doing a new reporter and debate scene in our short film because they both uplift and help our overall meaning, message, and idea of our film's purpose.

Research and Planning ..

     I've been doing a lot of thinking and researching. And I feel as if my best genre choice for the type of film I have in mind would be a documentary. But you can never be too sure, so I'm still debating on my final decision. It may take a while, possibly a couple days to come to a final decision.. But the second I figure out which genre I'm doing for sure, I'm getting straight to work.     I watched a few short films slightly similar to my idea, because there was not really any examples on the idea I have for my film.. Due to the fact it's kind of a new topic to the community and creative. In all honesty, I truly love my idea but I'm not really sure I'll be able to pull it off due to my environment and not having the proper tools or for say equipment.. What did you learn about using production technologies (cameras, lights, etc.)?

    W hat I learned about using production technologies is that it isn't simple, but learning how to use the technologies also wasn't extremely hard. Me and my group members found out how to properly use the equipment within 10 minutes max... It was obviously the most basic levels of knowledge since we wouldn't be need the equipment long term.     The technology we used was our phones, which we already knew how to use. A Kodak camera which we had to read about a little to understand how to operate. A portable studio microphone that my group members older sister showed us how to use, which was connected to the computer which made it 10x more easier to understand. Then sometimes we used lighting but mainly natural lighting majority of the time.     What I learned about the camera is that it was different from other cameras, it started recording differently the other cameras.
