Decision, Decisions, Decisions...

     To begin with, I have to decide on a genre in order to start my planning process so I can kick off the beginning of my project afterwards. But the problem is I don't know which genre to select. I enjoy almost all genres but the few that I have in mind to actually film are tough to decide between as well. Because I have to look at which genre I am going to have the capability to actually film due to my environment and equipment.  

    I was kind of thinking about romance, realistic literature, literary fiction, or thriller. These genres came to thought because I enjoy all of these greatly and because they all make sense with the overall idea for the film. I've currently been watching examples of others films on YouTube, and even watched full movies for the genres. I needed more education on certain genres like realistic literature and literary fiction. 

    My favorite movie genres are romance and comedy. So, those possibly could be my top two or final decisions. Because since I watch those two types of genres all the time, it would be instinctive and easier for me to decide on how I would want the plan for the overall film to look and come out.

    Hopefully I come up with a finial genre decision sooner than later.. Because I'd hate to be back tracked on time or stuck on the beginning process forever.

Research and Planning ..

     I've been doing a lot of thinking and researching. And I feel as if my best genre choice for the type of film I have in mind would be a documentary. But you can never be too sure, so I'm still debating on my final decision. It may take a while, possibly a couple days to come to a final decision.. But the second I figure out which genre I'm doing for sure, I'm getting straight to work.     I watched a few short films slightly similar to my idea, because there was not really any examples on the idea I have for my film.. Due to the fact it's kind of a new topic to the community and creative. What did you learn about using production technologies (cameras, lights, etc.)?

    W hat I learned about using production technologies is that it isn't simple, but learning how to use the technologies also wasn't extremely hard. Me and my group members found out how to properly use the equipment within 10 minutes max... It was obviously the most basic levels of knowledge since we wouldn't be need the equipment long term.     The technology we used was our phones, which we already knew how to use. A Kodak camera which we had to read about a little to understand how to operate. A portable studio microphone that my group members older sister showed us how to use, which was connected to the computer which made it 10x more easier to understand.
